I have a little something different to share with you today, friends! But first of all, Happy Derby Week! Can you believe that it’s almost May?! Craziness.
So a few weeks back I was thinking about all of my favorite Kentucky products and trying to come up with a post to share them with you. It seemed oh so appropriate to share them around the biggest Kentucky celebration of the year, the Kentucky Derby. With so many people preparing to attend Derby parties at the end of the week, I thought it would be nice to incorporate some of my favorites in a list of potential gifts for your Derby party hostess. Give your party hostess one of these fun gifts and you’re sure to be invited back next year (even if you gobbled up all of the Benedictine Tea Sandwiches)! Alright, here we go (click on the item’s title for a link to the company’s website):
Chocolate Lollipops and Bourbon Balls from Cellar Door Chocolates: I love Cellar Door chocolates. Madly truly deeply. Their shop at Butchertown Market is fairly close to school and occasionally I’ll take a detour to pick up a sweet treat on my way home. I am currently obsessed with their dark chocolate hedgehogs, but for a more Derby appropriate gift, look at their Horsehead and Jockey Silk Lollipops or their Mint Julep Bourbon Balls (one of many of their amazing bourbon ball varieties). P.S. They ship products!
Jockey Silk Coasters by Canlin Gifts: I found these coasters a few weeks back on Etsy and added them to my list of Derby party hostess gifts right away. Much to my excitement, I found them at Work the Metal at Butchertown Market yesterday! You can buy them individually in stores to make your own assorted pack, which is super fun. I bought this style and this style. Love them!
Mint Julep Sugar by Bourbon Barrel Foods: Bourbon Barrel Foods makes so many amazing products. I’ve used several of them on here before, including their Worcestershire Sauce (my favorite). We picked up this Mint Julep Sugar the other day and it is insanely delicious! You can make your own little assortment of fun BBF sauces and spices for your party hostess gift or pick up one of BBF’s pre-made gift boxes featuring their best sellers. Either way, your hostess is sure to love you for it!
Equine Markings Dishtowel by Anthropologie: This dishtowel is adorable and pink, plus it has horses on it, making it totally Derby gift appropriate!
Lex Cocktail Glasses by Crate&Barrel: We got two of these glasses back in January and have loved them ever since. They are high quality and gorgeous.
Fleur-de-Lis Louisville Skyline by DWSMetalDesign: So much Louisville in this piece. I know lots of ladies around here who would totally swoon over this.
Bourbon Barrel Red by Old 502 Winery: Old 502 Winery makes some pretty amazing wine, but my favorite of the bunch, and quite possibly my favorite red wine ever, is their Bourbon Barrel Red, which they age in, you guessed it, bourbon barrels!
Mint Julep Cups by Sur la table: Mint Julep Cups are a necessity around this time of year. You can find them all over Louisville, but if you don’t live around here, these from Sur la table can be shipped to your door!
That completes my list of Derby party hostess gift ideas! If you’re a local and are looking for fun places to get Kentucky products, check out Work the Metal at Butchertown Market and A Taste of Kentucky. Those are my go-to spots for Kentucky-themed gifts.
I’ll be checking back in later with more Derby recipes, so stay tuned!
P.S. This is not a sponsored post. Just me sharing some of my favorite Derby party hostess gift ideas with you!
